- How It Works
Kids learn the principles of financial responsibility and decision-making first-hand through interactive missions in this exciting online world. Kids direct the actions of characters, such as Stone Broke, a young man who's unfortunately down on his luck due to some poor financial decisions. Children have the ability to steer him toward financial well-being with better spending habits—picking up on valuable lessons along the way!
What better way to instill good spending habits than with positive reinforcement? These budding financial gurus have the chance to earn real-ife rewards, controlled by parents and teachers, including:
- Deposits made to your growing financial star's savings account—putting them on the path to real-life financial success.
- A cool MoneyIsland/BTH Bank t-shirt
- Or even a movie pass!
When your child finishes MoneyIsland, they earn an electronic certificate. Simply bring that certificate to any BTH Bank Store to claim the rewards!
On top of tracking their progress virtually, children can also do so in real-life with their MoneyIsland Passport. Kids stamp each breakthrough with colorful stickers, which reinforce the images, characters, and lessons learned in the game. It's also a great opportunity for grown-ups to interact with kids, watching each milestone translate into real-life achievements as they go.
More than just a fun game, MoneyIsland is an educational tool designed by an award-winning teacher with our next generation's financial future in mind. The game is intended for tweens ages 8 to 14 to learn in the present day but also to translate into their adult life.
